The EP is set to drop on March 4, 2022

Diamond Platnumz has sent his die-hard fans in a state of frenzy as the bong flava star announced the release date of his first-ever extended play record, usually referred to as an EP.An EP is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album. EPs generally contain four or five tracks and are considered “less expensive and time-consuming” for an artist to produce than an album.

An elated Chibu Dangote on Saturday, February 19 took to his Instagram account to share the expected cover art of the EP.

He then went ahead to ask his 14.1 million followers to guess the title of the upcoming EP. “YES! March 4th, 2022 My first EP in Music Life… Guess the title?” read the caption.



Reality show

The news comes a day after the boy from Tandale announced he is set to make a debut on Netflix together with his South Africa-based baby mama, Zari Hassan.

Amina Khalef is demanding Sh200,000 monthly upkeep for her and their children

Bongo star Ali Kiba has until February 25 to respond to a divorce suit filed by his wife Amina Khalef.A Kadhi’s court in Mombasa on February 10 gave the Tanzanian singer 15 days to respond to the suit, failure to which the case would proceed in his absence.

“Should you fail to appear within the time mentioned above, the plaintiff may proceed with the suit and judgment given in your absence,” the court papers read.

According to court papers, Khalef said she was filing for a suit because she was not getting a safe environment at their home in Dar-es-Salaam.

Khalef who got married to Kiba in April 2018, accused him of infidelity adding that she had allegedly faced verbal abuse from her in-laws, which she says began about six months into their marriage.

“The respondent [Kiba] has made a mockery of their marriage by disrespectfully engaging in public displays of infidelity with various women in total disregard of the petitioner’s feelings,” her suit papers read.

Khalef says efforts to try to resolve their marriage issues have been futile as her husband has been unresponsive, concluding that the marriage was broken beyond repair.

“The marriage is irreversibly severely broken with no chance of being salvaged,” she said.

Khalef is now demanding Sh200,000 monthly upkeep for her and their children as well as medical cover for the two.

Ali Kiba has previously admitted to having issues in their marriage. In 2019, Kiba in an interview with Clouds FM said they had issues in their marriage but were working to resolve them.

Gospel singer Nicah the Queen has fired a tough warning at trolls trying to dictate how she should handle her love life.In a video, Nicah said that she is tired of critics camping in her inbox, with a series of allegations labeled against her lover DJ Slahver.

The singer noted that whoever wishes to report to her that her man has ever seduced them should be ready to provide a replacement because she is not leaving him anytime soon.

The Disc Jockey could not help but pamper his darling with sweet words.

DJ Slahver is not a new name in the Kenya music industry. He is a talent manager, working with the likes of Nameless, Darassa, Wahu and his partner Nicah the Queen. He is also a manager at Ziiki Media.

Nigerian-French singer and songwriter Bukola Elemide, professionally known as Aṣa, has become the newest artist to join Spotify’s Equal Music Programme.

Asa has been picked as the ambassador for the month of February, just days after the release of her latest single Mayana, which also featured on the cover of Spotify’s EQUAL Africa playlist.

In line with Spotify’s bid to promote gender equality in the music industry and showcase influential female musicians, the global streaming platform welcomed Asa to join the EQUAL programme as a formidable African woman making waves in music.

Diamond becomes first artiste from East Africa to perform at Grammys’ Global Spin.

Tanzanian singer Nasseb Abdul Juma, aka Diamond Platnumz, has become the first artiste in East Africa to be featured on the Grammys new program dubbed Global Spin.

On Tuesday, the Grammy Recording Academy featured Chibu Dangote’s performance of his new song titled Gidi on the digital series.

Global Spin is a performance series spotlighting global music and international artists, and East Africa was lucky to have Platnumz as its first representative.

“In the latest episode of Global Spin, a performance series spotlighting global music and international artists, Afrobeat artist and music businessman Diamond Platnumz represents Tanzania with a kinetic performance of ‘Gidi’,” read an update from the Recording Academy.

The Recording Academy is the world’s leading society of musical professionals and is dedicated to celebrating, honoring, and sustaining music’s past, present and future.

In 2020, World Music Manager at Grammy Awards Marlon Fuentes promised that the WCB President would be part of its Recording Academy to represent the sound and culture from East Africa. Fast forward to 2022 it has happened.

At the time, Fuentes acknowledged Platnumz as an incredible act who is always giving his best whenever on stage.

He also saluted the singer for hitting the studio with legendary producer Swizz Beatz and his wife Alicia Keys upon his touchdown in Los Angeles, USA back in 2020.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expecting their first child together.

The exciting news was confirmed on January 31, 2020 after photos of the lovely couple in New York City surfaced online.

In the pictures, the Fenty founder had her bare baby bump on full display underneath a pink coat, which was buttoned only at the top, as the duo strolled around Harlem.

Nick cannon and Bre Tiesi

American actor and TV host Nick Cannon is expecting his eighth child with Bre Tiesi.

This is according to several reports which indicated he had hosted a gender-reveal party with Tiesi in California.

On January 3, award-winning Kenyan actor Pascal Tokodi and Grace Ekirapa disclosed they are expecting their first child together.

The lovebirds made the announcement via their social media handles with exquisite baby bump photos.

“A place in my heart that I never knew was empty, has been filled,” wrote Pascal Tokodi.

“The Lord continues to perfect all that concerns our lives and it is beautiful in our eyes. This is a story we shall tell one day. Happy new year from our growing family,” Grace Ekirapa wrote.

On January 5, Zora actress Jackie Matubia, who plays the character named ‘Nana’ on the TV show, announced she is expecting her second child.

“Itabidi mmenijudge juu [I don’t mind being judged] I can’t explain. Baby number 2 #blessed,” wrote Jackie Matubia.

Popular Kenyan disc jockey Kabochi Gakau, DJ Kaytrixx, and his wife Sue Kmusati are also expecting a newborn into their family.

The former Str8 Up Live DJ announced to the world that he would soon welcome baby number three.

“Words cannot fully explain what God has done in our lives so we give Him all the glory God is great Sue. God has truly blessed us. Our family is growing. Our third baby and we’re having…,” shared DJ Kyatrixx.

Akothee was recently accused by makeup artist Dennis Karuri of being difficult

Days after makeup artist Dennis Karuri claimed Akothee was the rudest client he ever worked with, another accusation has been raised by a former employee of the Akothee Safaris founder.The singer’s ex-employee identified only as Brenda has come out to claim she is owed two months’ salary by the musician and is now seeking a Sh60,000 settlement.

Brenda claims she did video coverage for Akothee’s businesses, the celebrity’s media interviews, and other of Akothee’s public engagements. She now claims to have not received payment for the services.

“I worked for you for two months, I delivered videos, Maasai Mara, Peptang Eldoret, Rue baby’s Miss Universe, Akothee Safaris promos, Peptang factory, and those interviews you did with kina Mwende Macharia. I was never paid for any of these, not even a single shilling. Ama hizo trips za ndege (flight tickets) were the mode of payment?” Brenda narrated to BNN on February 2.

Brenda lamented over how she had woken up early and went to bed late to fulfill the project demands. She described Akothee as inhumane threatening to take further action.

“I wasted my time and energy from waking up at 5:00 a.m. to sleeping at 11:00 p.m. every day for two months. You’re so inhumane and it’s about to go down! Whatever source that reached out to you has all the receipts from you, Vesha and Nelson of me asking and begging for my money from all of you,” Brenda lamented.

However, the self-proclaimed president of single mothers, accused the complainant of not delivering on agreed terms and making excuses. Akothee insisted payment would only be offered if Brenda delivered the job she was tasked with.

“I have seen you are saying you were never paid for the money you worked for, Brenda you came into the company and you failed to deliver. You gave us so many excuses saying that your computer crashed,” Akothee responded.

The singer threatened to take legal action saying she was not going to allow her name to be tarnished by anyone.

“Once you deliver what you shot, my lawyer will pay you, without that I am taking you to court, siwezi kubali mtu yeyote kuharibu jina yangu (I can’t allow anyone to tarnish my name) for nothing,” Akothee stated.

Akothee recently told off makeup artist Dennis Karuri who accused her of being rude telling him he had no time to pick online fights.

“It’s easy nowadays. I am dealing with my health and how my money can work for me, I have no time for dealing with clout chasers, someone will deal with it,” Akothe said

Zari’s comment on viral photos with her alleged new bae

South Africa-based, Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan has been forced to clear the air, following the virality of her photos with a man rumoured to be her new boyfriend.
Over the weekend, photos of Ms Hassan with an unidentified man surfaced online, with a number of gossip pages in Tanzania alleging she was back in the dating scene.

However, the mother of five, came out to caution against spreading the unfounded claims, with a clarification that the man pictured with her is just a good friend.

“He is a friend of mine, please stop spreading lies. We can’t be friends in peace without you assuming mjolo vibes. Eeeh wena!” reacted Zari Hassan. Mjolo is a South African slang word for ‘relationship’.

The photos that raised eyebrows were taken during Ms Hassan’s outing in Durban with a few of her friends and family.

“We are outside, tuko inje, tuli wabweru😁,” she captioned the photos, using Swahili and southern Africa dialects.

End of Zari’s last relationship

In 2021, Zari featured on the list of celebrities who broke up with their lovers, after going separate ways with the man she was dating under unclear circumstances.

The Brooklyn City College CEO had used February 14, 2021 (Valentine’s Day) to unveil the face of her then-new lover ‘Dark Stallion’. It was the first time netizens were having a clear look at Zari’s ‘Dark Stallion’ as all the previous photos had been captured strategically to hide his face.

Months later, the two went separate ways and Zari had to pull down all the pictures she had taken with Dark Stallion.

She also put up a cryptic message, insinuating that she had to let him go because they were not building each other in any way.

“I miss him, but I had to let him go. If it doesn’t build me I won’t keep it,” read Zari Hassan’s message at the time.
